About Us |

Romantic Style Jan de la Rosa, owner-buyer-artist, has an eye for romance: cottage decor, shabby chic textures, soft colors, floral fabrics, antique architecture, intricate handwork, whimsical and magical garden ornaments, nostalgic jewelry, and romantic apparel. She loves to create one-of-a-kind works of art using vintage objects and materials — e.g. collage jewelry, scarves made from vintage fabrics, lace and trims, shadow boxes adorned with old photos, buttons and lace, or hat racks made from old peely-paint shutters and ornate door knobs. And, she simply cannot resist enhancing merchandise, like adding lace, trims, silk flowers and old buttons to already charming vintage hats, blouses, purses and such.
Dave de la Rosa, other than being the all-around handyman, is the resident musician and music buyer. Expect to be treated to romantic, relaxing or nostalgic music while visiting the store. The CDs that you hear can be purchased, and you can usually find a basket of sale CDs that have been extracted from Dave’s personal collection. During special events, like Christmas Open House, or the annual April Fool’s Day Sale & Pajama-Romp, you’ll usually find Dave behind an acoustic guitar and microphone, and most likely, there will be guest musicians as well.
History In 1984, Jan & Dave opened Honeysuckle Hollow on Main Street in Historical Downtown Hendersonville. Their playful spirits, along with their supportive staff, flourished there for twenty-one years. They ultimately became a shopping tradition for locals and tourists alike. Local customers love to share the experience of Honeysuckle Hollow with their out-of-town guests and visiting family. And customers from all over the country make a point of stopping in anytime they visit Hendersonville.
Being Here, Now In 2005, as a result of the building being sold to investors, Honeysuckle Hollow was forced to relocate. Our new home on Haywood Road is fun, has parking, and is a fine place to carry on the tradition. Jan is always dreaming up new decorating ideas, and working as a team, she and Dave always finds ways to make them a reality. Stop in and see what’s new. There is always something unusual blooming in Jan’s garden, and new merchandise arrives most every day. |
